										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A recent study of U.S. ophthalmologists who perform laser vision correction &#8211;either LASIK or PRK &#8212; showed that  62.6% of the surgeons who were candidates for laser eye surgery had undergone laser vision correction surgery on their own eyes. This is a much higher percentage than seen in the general population. In the United States as of 2014, 16.2 million patients had undergone laser vision correction, representing about 13.1% of those eligible for surgery.
